grew with us.
Bradley Gardens opened in 2014 as a wedding venue. A long verandah, a working garden, and a grill nobody quite let cool. We thought that was what it would always be.
By 2017 we had changed our minds. The weddings stopped and the lodge began, because what the garden was actually good for wasn’t one big day. It was a night, and then another. Somewhere to arrive, put your bags down and stay a while.
The restaurant came in April 2021. The Bradley Experience started as that same grill and grew into a kitchen with a chef behind it. Guests eat with us on their way through Gweru. So do people who live here and aren’t staying at all, which we take as the better compliment.
Fifteen rooms now, over eleven thousand square metres of garden, a table for anyone who wants one, and a conference room at the quiet end of the property. The promise behind all of it is plain to say and harder to keep: genuine hospitality, gracious service, and the same standard of care on a quiet Tuesday as on a full weekend. You should feel recognised by the second morning, looked after without being managed, and completely at ease whether this is your first visit or your fiftieth.
We never set out to build a destination. We set out to build somewhere you arrive, set your bags down, and feel your shoulders drop an inch.

People arrive at Bradley for all kinds of reasons. A weekend two people owed themselves. A week of work that wanted somewhere calmer to land. A single night between one place and the next. The garden never asks which, it simply makes room.
The long weekend
Breakfast at the restaurant, an afternoon that goes nowhere in particular, dinner at The Bradley Experience. Mostly, the time to do very little, together, and on purpose.
The great escape
Trade the traffic for birdsong, a herb spiral and a slow circuit of the orchard. Town is never far away, and it feels a good deal further than it is.
Just passing through
A proper bed, a real breakfast and a gate that opens early. Some nights a single quiet stay is the whole of the ask, and we’re glad to give it.

Our team is small, and that is the point. The same faces meet you at the gate, lay the table and learn quickly that you take your coffee before anyone has said a word to you. Heartfelt hospitality isn’t a line we’d put on a sign. It’s the difference between a room that has been cleaned and a room that has been readied, for you, today.
A touch of excellence runs through the plain things, too: linen turned down without being asked, the kettle warm before the early train, a quiet table held for the guest who likes the corner. Nothing performed, nothing rushed, only noticed.

Where is Bradley Gardens, and how do I get there?
We are at No. 11 Bradley Plots, Gweru, a short drive from the Midlands town centre and easy to reach off the main highway. Reception is open 24 hours, and on-site parking is complimentary.
Is the restaurant open to non-residents?
Yes. The Bradley Experience is open to everyone every day, from 8am to 10pm. Lodge guests need not book; for dinner and weekend lunch we recommend reserving a table in advance.
Is there an entrance fee?
No, there’s no entrance fee. Whether you’re staying at the lodge or coming in for a meal or a drink at The Bradley Experience, you’re welcome to walk straight in.
Can I run a conference and stay overnight?
Absolutely. Residential conference packages pair any of the five meeting layouts with our fifteen rooms, so delegates can walk from the conference room to bed across the garden. Tell us your numbers and dates and we’ll shape a proposal.
What’s included in a lodge stay?
Every room includes high-speed Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, a daily-refreshed coffee and tea tray, and full access to the gardens. Breakfast is an optional extra, served at the restaurant from eight until eleven; if you are leaving earlier, say so the night before and it can be arranged around you. Dietary needs are catered with notice.
When is the garden at its best?
The gardens give something in every season. The lawns and shade trees are at their best through the warmer months, when most afternoons end outside. Ask for a table on the lawn when you book.
